REMOTE CONTIGUOUS UNITED STATES Produce Grocery Consulting Are you passionate about produce and ready to lead high-impact projects that make a difference in community-owned grocery co-ops across the country? We're looking for a Retail Program Manager to help coach co-op managers, implement programs, oversee store development projects and ensure adoption of best practices. This position will partner closely with our Strategic Development and Business Expansion teams to deliver retail programming that improves performance and elevates the Produce departments across our member co-ops. This is an ideal position for produce management experts interested in implementing programs that enhance store performance and customer experience. Primary Responsibilities Work closely and collaboratively with the Retail Programming Senior Manager to implement solutions and initiatives as identified in each project business plan. Provide onsite department level written assessments identifying opportunities to improve sales, margin, labor, and overall department performance. Support the strategic business objectives established for NCG member co-ops. Contribute to the successful department-level planning, set-up and opening of NCG Business Expansion projects, and other projects as directed. Provide co-ops with the resources, services, tools, and information needed to successfully utilize NCG programming. Provide and deliver content related to prepared food operations at NCG conferences and events as needed. Qualifications Minimum of five years of experience providing multi-unit, produce department management and strategy. Experience and familiarity with the operation and management of retail produce departments, category management, category adjacencies, equipment specifications and set-up, and design for a variety of store sizes and concepts. Hold an ANSI certified food protection manager certification or must be able to pass an ANSI accredited certified food protection manager exam upon hire. Up to 75% of business travel is required, including overnights and weekends.
