Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and develop three Market Activation Managers across Boston, MA and New York City, NY territories
  • Drive sales strategy across on- and off-premise channels for Gallo’s new wine and vodka innovation brands
  • Build and manage distributor partnerships, ensuring alignment, accountability, and KPI execution
  • Maintain deep knowledge of Northeast compliance laws and ensure all programs operate within regulatory guidelines
  • Identify innovation opportunities within the category and competitive landscape to inform growth strategy
  • Identify key moments of consumption for the Design Target Consumers of each brand and develop compliant execution strategies beyond the bar for each
  • Develop and oversee activation strategies that align brand positioning with market demand
  • Manage high-level client relationships and ensure seamless communication
  • Oversee performance reporting, budget management, and resource allocation
  • Manage travel, expense, and activation budgets with integrity and in compliance with company policies.
  • Demonstrate intrapreneurship, innovation, and accountability in all aspects of role execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 5–10 years of experience in wine, spirits, or broader beverage alcohol sales/marketing
  • Strong understanding of both on-premise and off-premise channels
  • Experience managing distributor relationships and compliance in the Northeast
  • Proven leadership experience managing direct reports
  • Experience in client management, sales strategy, and marketing integration
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel
  • Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time for training, meetings, or events, in addition to mandatory local market travel requirements
  • Minimum Qualifications

Preferred

  • One or more recognized wine certifications (e.g., WSET Level 1 & 2, Sommelier, or equivalent).
  • Strong network within NYC, Boston, and broader Northeast beverage alcohol markets
  • Analytical and strategic planning capabilities
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with operational discipline
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to write reports, correspondence, and press releases, and to present to varied audiences with ease.
  • Analytical ability to interpret data, calculate figures and percentages, and solve practical problems with minimal standardization.
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and strategically, take initiative, and hold self and others accountable.
