Job Summary

Own social storytelling and events orchestration for a member-focused credit union, turning content across social, events, and PR into community engagement and brand visibility.

  • Social and content ownership: plan, create, and publish across major platforms to drive daily engagement.
  • Event and PR ownership: coordinate sponsorships, member events, awards, and speaker opportunities.
  • Community engagement and reporting: monitor conversations, respond appropriately, and summarize results to optimize calendars and creative.

Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Assist in executing, tracking, and reporting on and about an aggressive event schedule which includes a combination of community event sponsorships and member events.
  • Assist in the production, editing, and posting of photos, audio files, articles, and videos.
  • Assist in executing the WECU social media strategy.
  • Assist in executing the WECU PR strategy, which may include crafting and distributing press releases, submitting the credit union and senior leaders for awards, and pitching WECU senior leaders as speakers at various community and trade related events.
  • Maintain the marketing team’s supplies and equipment.
  • Write and create content for the credit union’s social media channels providing daily posts and responses.
  • Write and create content based upon the credit union’s promotional and editorial calendars.
  • Assist with tracking social conversation, comments, and respond/engage appropriately.
  • Oversee social media efforts by managing, planning, creating, scheduling, organizing, editing, and publishing social media content for company pages including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
  • Provide recommendations on innovative ways to use social platforms and digital content to tell stories, interact and build community and drive engagement.
Requirements
  • Fluency in marketing, advertising, and communications best practice
  • Understanding of the digital ecosystem and its role in a contemporary and integrated member experience.
  • Clear communication skills.
  • Accurate writing skills, stressing composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Represent WECU in a positive, professional manner in person, on the telephone, and in written correspondence.
Nice to Have
  • Formal education in marketing or advertising with emphasis in communications or equivalent professional experience
  • Technical knowledge and experience with social media platforms, video editing, photo editing, graphic design and copy writing preferred
