Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Brand Storytelling: Develop and refine Cookwise’s core brand narrative, messaging pillars, and media angles to clearly communicate what makes the company unique.
  • Media Relations: Build and manage relationships with journalists, editors, producers, creators, and media outlets across food, lifestyle, wellness, women’s health, consumer tech, and startup media.
  • Press Strategy: Identify timely opportunities to pitch Cookwise’s story, product launches, milestones, founder story, and differentiating features to relevant publications and platforms.
  • Feature Positioning: Translate Cookwise’s unique features into compelling public-facing narratives that drive interest, trust, and conversation around the brand.
  • Brand Exposure: Lead efforts to maximize earned media, interviews, podcast opportunities, product mentions, and thought leadership placements.
  • Communications Materials: Draft press releases, media pitches, talking points, founder bios, briefing documents, and other external communications materials.
  • Campaign Support: Partner with leadership, product, and marketing teams to support launches, announcements, partnerships, and awareness campaigns.
  • Reputation Management: Help shape public perception of the brand and ensure consistency in external messaging across channels.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor media coverage, campaign performance, share of voice, and PR outcomes to help refine strategy and improve results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • 3–7 years of experience in public relations, communications, media relations, or brand storytelling, ideally in consumer startups, food, wellness, lifestyle, or tech.
  • Strong track record of securing media coverage and building brand visibility through earned media.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to identify compelling story angles and position product features in a way that resonates with different audiences.
  • Experience working cross-functionally in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • Strong organizational skills, media instincts, and attention to detail.
  • A proactive, creative, and strategic mindset with the ability to operate independently.
