Drive social content creation and media-relations support for SCAN, coordinating video and PR tasks to advance organizational goals.

Must-have: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field
Standout: Experience developing content for social media and basic video editing
Standout: Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines

Responsibilities

Develop, write, and schedule engaging content for social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, X, etc.)
Draft captions, blog posts, short-form articles, and digital copy and stay current with social media trends and platform updates
Assist in planning, shooting, and editing short-form and long-form video content
Create video assets for social media, website, and promotional campaigns
Support scriptwriting and storyboard development
Capture behind-the-scenes footage and event highlights
Optimize video content for various social media platforms
Draft press releases, media advisories, and pitch emails
Research media contacts and assist in building targeted media lists
Track media coverage and compile media reports

Requirements

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field
Experience developing content for social media platforms
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Basic to intermediate video production and editing skills
Understanding of media relations principles and PR strategy
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Technical expertise - Basic analytical skills
Problem Solving - Basic problem-solving skills
Communication - Good communication and interpersonal skills
