Job Summary

Own media relations and narrative delivery for diverse clients, turning strategy into story across travel, tourism, telecom, and government spaces.

  • Media relations: cultivate journalist and influencer ties to secure coverage across print, broadcast, digital, and social channels.
  • Storytelling and content: craft pitches, press materials, and client content that move campaigns forward.
  • Execution and operations: manage calendars, deliverables, and logistics for photo shoots, press trips, and editor briefings.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Supporting clients across a wide range of industries with strategy, storytelling, and execution.
  • Coordinating events, from press conferences to rallies to trips across rural Alaska.
  • Developing content for social media, publications, and media outreach.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with local, state, and national journalists, and influencers to include members of the business community.
  • Monitoring media across print, broadcast, digital, and social channels for client opportunities.
  • Writing compelling press materials, pitches, and other client content.
  • Supporting photo shoots, press trips, and editorial briefings.
  • Helping manage client communications calendars and deliverables.

Requirements

  • A background in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, or a related field, whether through a degree, work experience, or both.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in PR, communications, or a closely related field; agency experience is a plus!
  • Strong writing skills and comfort working across a range of formats and audiences.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and an instinct for what resonates online.
  • Experience pitching media and building or managing press lists.
  • The ability to juggle multiple projects, stay organized, and meet deadlines without losing the details.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving, with confidence working independently when needed.
  • Experience in or knowledge of travel/tourism, education, telecom, healthcare, public affairs, or government is a genuine advantage.

Preferred

  • Agency experience is a plus.
