Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Developing, planning and implementing marketing campaigns and strategies.
  • Evaluating market conditions to determine appropriate and effective marketing strategies.
  • Exchanging written and verbal information regarding departmental programs, activities and services.
  • Preparing, distributing and/or presenting press releases and public service announcements.
  • Coordinating press coverage for departmental activities and special events.
  • Developing radio and television commercials, advertising campaigns, and public announcements.
  • Reviewing and coordinating the editing and production of broadcast media.
  • Writing various reports.
  • Developing goals and objectives.
  • Preparing and monitoring budgets and authorizing expenditures.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of and skill in applying administrative and management principles and techniques.
  • Knowledge of and skill in utilizing broad-based marketing research principles and practices.
  • Skill in accessing marketing research and following work through to logical conclusion.
  • Skill in developing long and short-range marketing and promotional plans.
  • Skill in communicating verbally and in writing using tact and diplomacy.
  • Skill in compiling and analyzing data.
  • Skill in public speaking.
  • Skill in developing social media marketing strategies.
  • Skill in implementing promotional programs to increase revenue and/or participation.
  • Ability to supervise a professional and clerical staff.
