Description Applicants must be actively seeking a degree with a major or minor in Computer Science or Criminal Justice *** GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office (SRSO) Information Technology Internship Program is a semester-based non-paid initiative, which provides an introductory opportunity to students interested in learning about supporting public safety technology systems in a secure law enforcement environment. Students will be provided with necessary experience and direction of what career path they may want to pursue within the field of Information Technology. This program also provides flexibility to meet academic needs by offering practical and technical opportunities working within the Information Technology department. This is a non-paid internship, and applicants must be seeking college credits. A letter of recommendation from a professor must be included with applications submitted. Examples of Duties ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Maintaining and renewing LCA Agency Agreements, obtaining and verifying Security Addendums, ensuring Security Awareness Certificate compliance, auditing users in SmartCop/CJI apps, verifying and updating Current Agreements/MOUs, auditing KnowBe4 users, documenting FIPS compliance certificates, and tracking hardware and software end-of-life timelines. Typical Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Be enrolled in an accredited college, university, AND maintain an “active student status”. Be seeking a degree with a major or minor in Computer Science or Criminal Justice. Have and maintain a minimum 3.0 grade point average or higher. Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and be able to intern at least sixteen (16) hours a week.
