Job Description

New Media Manager to grow Carnegie video output on international affairs by connecting scholars to creator networks, train scholars in best practices, guide social storytelling, and develop a scalable strategy blueprint for the new media landscape; own audience reach through short form video, advise on engaging content, and foster shared learnings with partner organizations while collaborating with the Democracy, Conflict, and Governance and Sustainability, Climate and Geopolitics programs.

  • The New Media Manager will increase Carnegie's video output on major international affairs topics by linking scholars to creator networks.
  • Training and coaching scholars in best practices for social media and storytelling.
  • Directing creative storytelling strategies for social media and producing a strategy blueprint for other organizations in the space.
  • Directing strategy to reach audiences via short form video.
  • Advising and helping create engaging content.
  • Facilitating shared learnings across Carnegie and partner organizations.
  • Working closely with the Democracy, Conflict, and Governance program and the Sustainability, Climate and Geopolitics program.
  • 3 to 5+ years of experience in social media strategy, content marketing, digital audience development, or a similar field.
  • Deep understanding of social video platforms and tailoring content for each platform.
  • Strong editorial judgment and news instincts.
  • Demonstrated experience working with nonprofit organizations, content creators, journalists, academics, or digital storytellers with a strong grasp of building and engaging audiences on fact-based content.
  • Experience managing a social media budget.
  • Training others who are new to engaging with social media is a plus.
