Job Description

Responsibilities

  • The Department of Motor Vehicles Office of Innovation is hiring part-time Mobile ID Marketing and Outreach Specialist to support marketing, partner engagement, and public communications for the Virginia Mobile ID program. Interns will help develop marketing materials, coordinate outreach to DMV customers, businesses, and partner agencies, support events, and gather customer and stakeholder feedback to help improve mobile ID enrollment across Virginia.
  • Support efforts to increase Mobile ID enrollment by engaging with Virginians at universities, sporting events, conferences, bars, restaurants, and other high-traffic locations.
  • Conduct mobile ID demonstrations at events to educate participants and encourage adoption
  • Assist in developing marketing collateral (flyers, digital graphics, email and social media content, handouts, presentations).
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders, including businesses, airports, universities, ABC stores, law enforcement agencies, and point-of-sale providers.
  • Prepare written content for business toolkits and business outreach.
  • Assist in organizing public outreach events, demonstrations, and informational sessions.
  • Collect and organize customer and business feedback to support future enhancements.
  • Maintain contact lists and assist with partner communication tracking.
  • Help prepare briefing materials, talking points, and PowerPoint presentations for leadership.
  • Participate in internal meetings related to business outreach and partner alignment.

Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age at the start of employment.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Must be able to work full-time or 20–30 hours per week and occasionally on weekends, attending events as needed.
  • Must be able to work on-site as assigned.
  • Must be willing to travel within the state.
  • This is an at-will wage position. Continued employment is contingent upon meeting performance expectations including event attendance, professional conduct, quality of work product, and demonstrated contribution to program goals. High-performing employees may be eligible for discretionary recognition bonuses based on documented contributions to program success.

Preferred

  • Experience with event coordination, outreach, or customer service is a plus.
