*Position Summary* The Medical Assistant (Per Diem) supports healthcare providers in delivering high-quality, patient-centered urgent care services. This role is responsible for clinical and administrative duties, ensuring efficient patient flow and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized clinical environment. The per diem employee works on an as-needed basis, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. *Clinical Duties:* * Prepare patients for examination by obtaining and documenting vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints * Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments * Perform point-of-care testing (e.g., strep, flu, COVID-19, urinalysis) * Administer injections, medications, and immunizations as directed by the provider * Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, wound care, and splinting as needed * Maintain and sterilize medical equipment and exam rooms * Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system *Administrative Duties:* * Greet and room patients in a professional and compassionate manner * Verify patient information, insurance, and collect co-pays * Schedule follow-up appointments and manage patient flow * Answer phones and respond to patient inquiries * Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations *Qualifications* * High school diploma or equivalent required * Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred * Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred * BLS/CPR certification required * Previous urgent care, emergency room, or primary care experience preferred * Proficiency with EMR systems * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour Work Location: In person
