Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Be on Scene: Capture compelling video, audio, and photography at ceremonies, training exercises, news conferences, and more.
  • Craft Engaging Content: Collaborate with our team to create dynamic content for Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Instagram – bringing stories to life online!
  • Tell Real Stories: Conduct interviews with officers and community members, uncovering the human side of law enforcement.
  • Impact Transparency: Assist in managing Freedom of Information Act requests, contributing to open communication within our agency.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be proficient in photography, videography, photo/video editing, and/or multimedia journalism, along with video/audio editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, iMovie), social media management tools, and a basic understanding of journalistic principles.
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft 365.
  • Honorably discharged from the military (if applicable).
  • Have no pending cases or criminal felony convictions (misdemeanors may require expungement).
  • No THC or Marijuana use within 365 days; some drugs are automatic disqualifiers.
  • No student loans in default status.
  • The Nelson-Denny Reading Test, a two-phase background investigation, a credit check, a psychological examination/evaluation, a polygraph examination, an oral interview, and upon an offer of employment, a pre-employment physical examination will be required.
