Job Summary

Own and optimize research and data-to-insight for client media strategies, from survey design to Boolean sourcing and clean data storytelling.

  • Research & Insight Ownership: Lead primary studies and media landscape analysis to reveal audience affinities, trends, and brand positioning.
  • Data Ops & Analytics: Clean datasets and craft precise Boolean queries to surface actionable strategic recommendations.
  • Client Advisory & Reporting: Deliver clear, consultative writeups and participate in sessions that translate data into defensible media strategies.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Primary Research: Design and execute custom research surveys to understand audience preferences, media affinities, and emerging trends.
  • Boolean Query Writing: Craft detailed Boolean searches to pull the most relevant and accurate media coverage and content for strategic analysis.
  • Data Cleaning + Analysis: Clean raw datasets manually to ensure accuracy and extract meaningful insights. Use Excel/Google Sheets or other more advanced data analytics tools to pivot data and identify key patterns.
  • Media Landscape Analysis: Analyze media trends (social + traditional) to understand brand positioning, competitive performance, and audience engagement.
  • Report Writing + Strategic Feedback: Craft clear, long-form recaps that summarize findings, provide actionable insights, and guide clients toward future success.
  • Collaborative Consulting: Participate in client facing sessions where we provide consultative guidance, shape defensible strategy based on data and research insights.

Requirements

  • Experience: 2+ years working in data analysis, PR/communications measurement, audience research, or media intelligence.
  • Software Knowledge: Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.). Experience with media tools (like Muckrack, Brandwatch, Meltwater, Infegy or Talkwalker) is a plus.
  • Research Expertise: Strong background in crafting and conducting primary research with thoughtful survey design and execution.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to build complex, accurate boolean queries and find connections in data, summarize complex concepts and deliver strategic insights.
  • Attention to Detail: You can dig into raw data, clean it thoroughly, and extract meaningful trends.
  • Creative Mindset: Enjoy solving strategic problems in innovative ways and thrive in working on fast-paced projects with committed deadlines.
  • Writing Skills: Clear, thoughtful, and consultative writing style; ability to convey complex ideas in a simple way.
