Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Content Creation & Writing
  • Develop and support marketing efforts for civic engagement and government relations initiatives
  • Work with internal and external partners on influencer strategy to advance civic engagement work
  • Turn complex program and policy information into tight messaging that’s easy to understand and motivate people to get involved
  • Adapt messaging and tone to support different goals, including advocacy efforts, community mobilization, and engagement initiatives
  • Work closely with the Director, Brand & Marketing to ensure all content reflects UJA’s voice, values, and priorities
  • Use AI tools (such as ChatGPT) to support research, brainstorming, and drafting while maintaining quality and accuracy
  • Use UJA’s photo library and visual assets to support consistent, compelling storytelling
  • Team Collaboration, Project Management and Execution
  • Serve as lead strategic marketing partner to colleagues across government and external relations work and other internal stakeholders

Requirements

  • One-two years of political campaign experience or similar
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a keen sense of brand voice
  • Knowledge of Jewish communal landscape across NY
  • Knowledge of influencer space as it relates to political and civic engagement
  • Strategic thinker who can move fluidly between big-picture vision and tactical execution
  • Agile, swift, and unflappable team player with strong work ethic, who’s resourceful, self-directed, and comfortable managing up, down, and across teams
  • Strong, visual thinker who can tell stories through both words and images
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in marketing, writing, communications, or account/project management
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving and prioritization skills. (left brain + right brain)
  • Strong interest in advocacy/civic engagement, Jewish communal life, programs, and initiatives preferred
  • Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, can-do attitude
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and other creative tools a plus
