Job Summary

Own the end-to-end marketing and advocacy communications program, shaping brand, audience engagement, and cross-team campaigns across education, events, sponsorships, and internal communications.

  • Lead the development of annual marketing and communications plans and ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Oversee content creation, editing, and distribution across email, website, social, and print.
  • Drive data-driven optimization of campaigns and coordination with advocacy, education, events, and sponsorship teams.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute annual marketing and communications plans aligned with Multifamily NW’s strategic priorities.
  • Maintain and evolve brand standards, messaging frameworks, and visual identity across all platforms.
  • Ensure consistent voice, tone, and positioning in all communications.
  • Write, edit, and manage content for email campaigns, newsletters, website updates, social media, print materials, and reports.
  • Serve as lead editor to ensure clarity, accuracy, professionalism, and accessibility.
  • Support internal communications to staff, committees, and board leadership as needed.Advocacy & Government Affairs Communications
  • Draft and distribute advocacy communications including legislative alerts, action calls, press releases, and policy updates.
  • Prepare formal letters and written correspondence to elected officials, government agencies, and regulatory bodies in coordination with leadership and Government Affairs committees.
  • Support messaging around legislative sessions, ballot measures, regulatory changes, and advocacy campaigns.
  • Ensure advocacy communications are timely, accurate, and aligned with approved policy positions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4–7 years of marketing and communications experience, preferably in associations, nonprofits, or advocacy-driven organizations.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, including experience with policy-oriented or advocacy communications.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms, CMS tools, and basic analytics reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a calendar-driven organization.
  • Association or government affairs experience strongly preferred.
