Job Summary

Own the storytelling and brand presence for a mission-driven organization, leading donor-focused communications and impact storytelling across newsletters, events, websites, and social channels.

  • Own communications calendar and ensure timely, consistent donor touchpoints across channels.
  • Lead fundraising messaging and annual appeal storytelling in collaboration with leadership.
  • Capture impact stories through photography, video, and testimonials to fuel campaigns and reporting.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead storytelling and brand presence
  • Create and manage content across email, social media, website, and print
  • Develop and execute a cohesive communications strategy that builds awareness and engagement
  • Ensure brand consistency across all platforms and materials
  • Partner with the Chief Development Officer to craft compelling fundraising campaigns and messaging
  • Lead annual appeal communications, donor stewardship, and impact storytelling
  • Produce newsletters, donor updates, direct mail, and campaign collateral
  • Strengthen donor relationships through consistent, thoughtful communication touchpoints
  • Design and execute marketing plans for events and campaigns
  • Develop event materials, invitations, signage, and follow-up communications

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in marketing, communications, PR, or nonprofit development
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills—you know how to connect with different audiences
  • Experience managing digital content (websites, email platforms, social media)
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • A creative eye and experience with tools like Canva (or similar)
  • A data-informed mindset—you track what’s working and optimize accordingly
  • A passion for mission-driven work and making a real difference in your community

Preferred

  • Experience in nonprofit fundraising communications or donor engagement
  • Ability to turn impact into compelling stories that inspire action
  • A hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves approach with a collaborative spirit
