  • Coordinate with FAEIS, ALCE, and campus marketing to drive measurable engagement.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement marketing and communications activities in support of the vision and strategic direction of the FAEIS program and ALCE department.
  • Plan and execute a comprehensive communications and marketing strategy that aligns with the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and university-wide initiatives.
  • Develop strategic content that demonstrates the impact and significance of ALCE and FAEIS programs, research, and people to support enrollment, philanthropy, and institutional reputation.
  • Manage and optimize digital and print content for both FAEIS and ALCE, including websites, social media, and publications.
  • Maintain accurate, accessible, and strategically aligned content; support the development of digital and print materials; ensure compliance with Virginia Tech brand, editorial, and digital accessibility standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues from FAEIS, ALCE, and the college’s marketing and communications team to ensure the position is supported, resourced, and aligned.
  • Identify key audiences and develop targeted communications and marketing plans that drive measurable impact.
  • Attend/cover some events outside of normal business hours; be prepared for hybrid work arrangement and on-campus presence.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in communications, marketing, agricultural communications, or related field, or bachelor’s degree with relevant experience
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic marketing and communications plans
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
  • Experience with digital communications platforms, web content management systems, and social media
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and project management skills

Preferred

  • Experience in higher education, agriculture, or Extension
  • Familiarity with Virginia Tech brand standards and communications practices
  • Experience with analytics, measurement, and performance reporting
