Job Summary

Own writing and coordination of nonprofit communications across blogs, social, and email, balancing voice consistency with community impact for residents, donors, and partners.

  • Content creation: write and edit blog posts, newsletters, program features, and social copies while maintaining calendars and consistent tone.
  • Channel support: draft social posts, adapt materials for email and web, and coordinate with internal teams for timely campaigns.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Draft, edit, and proofread short and long-form written content, including blog posts, program highlights, community stories, grantee features, event recaps, newsletter copy, social media content, campaign materials, and other public-facing communications.
  • Translate program updates, grantmaking activity, event information, donor communications, and community impact into clear, accessible language for residents, donors, grantees, partners, and other audiences.
  • Gather and organize information through background research, internal collaboration, review of existing materials, and light interviews when appropriate.
  • Support PRCF’s social media presence by drafting, scheduling, and organizing content across platforms using Hootsuite or other approved tools.
  • Maintain content calendars and help ensure that social media, email, and campaign communications are timely, coordinated, and aligned with PRCF’s voice and priorities.
  • Create captions, post copy, hashtags, campaign language, and basic graphics for social media and digital communications using Canva, Adobe tools, or other approved platforms.
  • Assist with email communications by building and formatting newsletters, announcements, campaign messages, and event-related emails in Mailchimp.
  • Gather, adapt, and organize content from internal departments, programs, partners, and existing materials to support coordinated email, social media, and website communications.
  • Help maintain consistent voice, tone, formatting, accessibility, and visual presentation across PRCF’s communications channels.
  • Organize communications assets, including templates, graphics, captions, photo files, reusable copy, campaign materials, email archives, and content libraries.

Requirements

  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with an interest in developing professional communications experience.
  • Interest in nonprofit communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, design, community engagement, philanthropy, or related fields.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple assignments in a collaborative environment.
  • Willingness to ask questions, receive feedback, revise work, and learn new tools and processes.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively with staff, partners, and community members.
  • Familiarity with Canva, Mailchimp, Hootsuite, WordPress, Elementor, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar tools is helpful, but not required.
  • Interest in storytelling, community impact, donor engagement, grantmaking, or nonprofit communications.

Preferred

  • College enrollment or recent coursework in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Graphic Design, Nonprofit Management, or a related field preferred.
