Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Provides design, technical, and production support for various promotional materials for University Recreation.
  • Works with the Communications Specialist to develop appropriate marketing displays and campaign strategies.
  • Produces assigned marketing materials in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Adheres to assigned schedules and meet deadlines.
  • Provides routine updates on production of work and communication with professional staff in a timely manner.
  • Develops apparel designs, social media graphics, and logo creation for various UREC departments and programs.
  • Assists with other various projects and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at The University of Alabama.
  • Must be available to work at least 10 hours per week.
  • Some graphic design experience and/or relevant coursework.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator).
  • Direct experience with final preparation and packaging of print materials.
  • Creativity, ability to accept critical feedback, and willingness to provide input on projects.
  • Enrollment requirements: Undergraduate Students must be registered for at least 6 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; Graduate Students must be registered for at least 4.5 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; International Students must be registered full-time (Undergraduate = 12 credit hours, Graduate = 9 credit hours) during fall/spring semesters. Enrollment requirements must be maintained for the duration of on-campus employment.

Preferred

  • Adobe certifications preferred but not required.
