Job Summary

Own the end-to-end national broadcast buying process, balancing client relationships with price, placement, and post-analysis while steering the Negotiator team and coordinating with Strategy on marketplace signals.

  • Client and team ownership: oversee day-to-day activities, directives, and plan implementation across a national TV/cable buying function.
  • Planning and optimization: update planning, allocate market funds, and seek opportunities to upgrade buying effectiveness while monitoring marketplace shifts.
  • Execution and insights: present buys, track costs per point, and translate analysis into strategic recommendations for media opportunities.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Manage solid client relationships
  • Supervise the Negotiator(s) and Assistant Negotiator(s) on all day-to-day activities for specific clients
  • Present buys and post-analysis
  • Issue directives to Investment group to guide buying process
  • Meet with Negotiators and communicate approved plan for implementation
  • Update planning team on status of client projects
  • Manage the negotiation, presentation, and implementation of national television and cable schedules
  • Train Negotiator and Assistant Negotiator in all aspects of national broadcast (schedule maintenance, strategies, programming, and negotiating), as well as the client(s) business and industry
  • Project cost per points based on current buys
  • Alert clients, Supervisor of market place shifts that affect future buys

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of buying systems and marketplace intelligence
  • Four-year college degree
  • 4 - 7 years previous media buying experience.
  • Proven analytical and communication skills.
  • Proven prioritizing skills.
  • Able to work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Able to work under independently or as part of a team.
  • Must be able to work under deadline.
  • Advance level of proficiency with Microsoft Word for Windows and Excel
