Job Description

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with senior leadership, supports communications strategy development in alignment with enterprise brand and business goals.
  • Supports the development of comprehensive communication strategies that align with organizational objectives including member engagement and retention, provider relations and regulatory compliance.
  • Contributes to communications strategic planning processes, including annual communication plans, campaign roadmaps, and performance forecasting.
  • Leads and manages communications materials development teams; ensures performance is aligned with organizational goals and high-quality outputs are delivered.
  • Builds strong partnerships with executive stakeholders across the organization, and ensures communication initiatives support cross-functional goals.
  • Ensures all communication strategies comply with state and federal regulations.
  • Utilizes competitive analysis, and member insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Leads data-driven decision-making by partnering with analytics teams to define key performance indicators (KPIs), manage performance tracking, measure campaign success, and apply insights to refine strategies and improve future initiatives.
  • Champions innovation and continuous improvement in communication strategy and planning processes.
  • Hires, trains, manages and evaluates team member performance - provides coaching, development, and recognition; ensures ongoing appropriate staff training, holds regular team meetings, and drives communication and collaboration.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of progressive communications/marketing experience, including health care/managed care experience, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • At least 1 year of management/leadership experience.
  • Ability and experience leading communications/marketing strategy and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) regulations, Medicaid/Medicare communications, and member engagement strategies.
  • Experience with communication analytics platforms and strategic planning tools.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Project management experience/experience managing complex projects in a regulated environment.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with internal/external stakeholders in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Agile certification.
  • Proficiency in marketing technology platforms/tools (e.g. Salesforce Health Cloud, Adobe Experience Manager, Tableau).
  • Experience with multicultural and multilingual communications.
  • Familiarity with National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) standards and health literacy best practices.
  • Bilingual capabilities (Spanish, Mandarin, etc.).
