Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead content governance for CAP digital properties, including CAP.org, YourPathologist.org, files.cap.org, and related web platforms.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve content standards, publishing workflows, governance processes, and content lifecycle practices.
  • Provide strategic guidance on content architecture, accessibility, search engine optimization (SEO), answer engine optimization (AEO), generative engine optimization (GEO), search strategy, web writing, and digital user experience.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for CAP's digital ecosystem, including WordPress, WP Engine, Elementor, Rank Math, and related digital content technologies.
  • Manage and optimize content, site structure, search performance, and user experience across CAP's digital platforms.
  • Partner with Information Services, vendors, and platform providers to support incident response, security-related communications, platform outages, access issues, deployment conflicts, and other critical digital operational matters.
  • Partner with content contributors, UX, developers, business owners, and agency partners to improve usability, findability, accuracy, and engagement.
  • Ensure digital content reflects CAP brand, voice, style, accessibility expectations, and audience-centered communications principles.
  • Lead strategy and optimization for social media, YouTube, video, and other digital communications channels.
  • Develop channel-specific recommendations to improve member, customer, and stakeholder engagement.

Requirements

  • Strong digital communications judgment and ability to connect communications work to organizational goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional work through governance, influence, consultation, and relationship-building.
  • Strong written, verbal, editorial, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Ability to translate complex analytics, technology, and digital strategy concepts into accessible guidance for staff, members, and leadership.
  • Strong understanding of audience-centered content, digital user experience, SEO/AEO/GEO, accessibility, web standards, and content governance.
  • Curiosity and continuous learning orientation, including interest in AI, innovation, digital transformation, and emerging communications practices.
  • Experience managing enterprise websites and digital experiences using WordPress, WP Engine, Elementor, Rank Math, and related content management, optimization, and search technologies.
  • Experience with Google Analytics 4, YouTube Studio, social media analytics, podcast analytics, dashboards, or comparable reporting tools.
  • Experience with social media management platforms such as Sprout Social or comparable tools.
  • Experience with podcast hosting and distribution platforms such as Buzzsprout or comparable systems.

Preferred

  • Experience with AI-enabled tools to improve communications effectiveness, content optimization, workflow efficiency, audience insights, and stakeholder service.
  • Experience with enterprise web platforms and emerging digital marketing technologies.
  • Training or mentoring experience for staff on digital platforms, analytics, or content strategy
