Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Stakeholder Communications: Manage and maintain a brand influencer database (local government leaders, civic organizations, community partners) and develop tailored communications to engage these groups.
  • Storytelling & Content Development: Harvest, write and distribute feature stories that exemplify the Ballad Health mission, highlighting patients, families and team members to strengthen community connection.
  • Executive Support: Draft professional correspondence on behalf of the CEO and senior leaders to ensure consistent, thoughtful outreach.
  • Message Development: Write talking points, speeches and presentation materials for executives presenting to local government bodies, civic groups and community organizations.
  • Community Engagement Tracking: Monitor and track C-suite involvement in community activities to highlight Ballad Health’s engagement and reinforce key strategic messages.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with communications colleagues to align local government and community outreach with overall organizational messaging and strategic priorities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, public affairs, journalism or a related field required; Master’s preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in communications, government relations or community affairs, preferably in healthcare or a similarly complex environment.
  • Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills with the ability to tailor content for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with executives and senior leaders on high-visibility communications.
  • Strong organizational skills with experience managing multiple projects and priorities.
  • Knowledge of local government and civic processes, with experience cultivating relationships in these areas preferred.
