Job Summary

Own the integrated communications and brand program for CIS of Michigan, shaping messaging, media relations, partner engagement, and storytelling to advance awareness and mission impact.

  • Growth and visibility: lead unified plans, campaigns, and benchmarks across donors, schools, and community partners.
  • Brand and content: maintain visual identity, messaging, and ethical storytelling across print, digital, and media, with staff training to act as ambassadors.
  • Media relations: build earned media, manage interviews, and secure opportunities with local, regional, and national outlets.
  • Internal and external comms: lead internal communications and ensure consistency across departments and regions.
  • Vendor and budget management: oversee relationships with vendors and manage communications budgets.
  • Storytelling and policy: lead Ethical Storytelling efforts and ensure confidentiality, dignity, equity, and student voice in narratives.
  • Training and enablement: train staff on messaging and storytelling to expand brand ambassadors in communities.
  • Collateral and assets: oversee development and distribution of print and digital materials, including reports and campaigns.
  • Analytics and governance: utilize KPIs to measure campaigns and inform strategy; maintain brand standards across channels.
