Job Summary

Own a student wellness marketing portfolio across five campus units by shaping cohesive, accessible communications and piloting programs that expand Holistic Health and Wellness at UC Riverside.

  • Design and launch pilot programs to extend the campus footprint during the EPIC rollout

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • assist in a wide range of marketing and outreach activities designed to promote student health and wellness services at UC Riverside.
  • operate within the divisional umbrella of Holistic Health and Wellness—comprising five campus departments: SHS, CAPS, SWIFT, Case Management, and The Well—to ensure a cohesive and unified communication strategy across all wellness units.
  • gain exposure to fundamental marketing concepts while supporting the stabilization period of the EPIC electronic health record system implementation.
  • ensure all student-facing materials and digital footprints—including website development with accessibility standards—are viewed and optimized through an empathetic student-patient/client lens.
  • play a hands-on role in designing and launching pilot program initiatives to expand the collective footprint of Holistic Health and Wellness across the UCR campus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Public Health, or Business Administration
  • 0 - 1 years of related experience
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of marketing principles, strategies, techniques and practices
  • Familiarity with digital platforms and an interest in learning website accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG, screen-reader friendliness)

Preferred

  • Basic knowledge of the campus and/or medical center, including its vision, mission, goals, objectives, achievements and infrastructure
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to write from the perspective of a college student audience
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and provide empathetic, high-quality customer service
  • Prior experience or internship within a higher education setting (preferably at a UC campus)
  • Familiarity with healthcare environments or student wellness topics
  • Experience using content management systems (CMS) and basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud)
