Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Organic media strategy and integration: Define the unified organic growth roadmap across organic social, PR, SEO, AEO, and digital communications. Ensure all organic channels reinforce each other and ladder up to shared growth objectives.
  • Organic social (greenfield build): Stand up Bankrate’s organic social function from the ground up. Define the platform strategy, establish the voice, secure high-impact resources, and activate the playbook. This is not an optimization role; it’s a creation mandate. You’ll turn organic social from a nascent presence into a legitimate audience growth channel.
  • PR and media relations: Lead proactive and reactive earned media efforts that build Bankrate’s brand authority, drive quality backlinks, and position Bankrate experts as trusted voices in personal finance, telling our story to high-value target audiences.
  • Search visibility (SEO & AEO): Oversee the strategy to maintain Bankrate’s dominance in traditional search, and to grow its discoverability in AI-generated answers and emerging discovery surfaces. You don’t need to be the hands-on-keyboard SEO practitioner, but you need to understand the landscape well enough to set direction, oversee strong specialists, and hold the team accountable to results.
  • Performance and attribution: Own the measurement framework for organic media. Build clear reporting on organic traffic, share of voice, search rankings, social engagement, and the downstream revenue impact and profitability of organic channels.
  • Team leadership: Build, develop, and manage a high-performing organic growth team. Set the bar for talent, execution quality, and strategic thinking. Create an environment where specialists grow into well-rounded organic growth marketers
Requirements
  • Proven Organic Growth leadership: 7+ years of experience in organic/earned channels with 4+ years leading teams. You’ve built and scaled organic growth functions, not just managed individual channels in isolation.
  • Organic social fluency: You understand what it takes to build an organic social presence from scratch. You’ve defined platform strategies, established brand voice on social, and scaled audiences in environments where there was no existing playbook to follow.
  • Cross-channel strategic thinking: You see organic growth as an integrated ecosystem, not a collection of siloed channels. You know how social, PR, AEO, and SEO interplay , and you’ve built strategies that take advantage of that.
  • Search literacy: You understand the SEO and AEO landscape well enough to set strategy, manage talent, and make smart investment decisions. You don’t need to be the technical SEO or AEO expert, but you need to know what modernized operations look like.
  • AI-Centric Mindset: You use AI in your day to day and know how to enable your teams with this emerging technology. You embrace the productivity opportunity, and don’t get distracted by uncertainty. You’re willing to fail fast and iterate faster to stay ahead of the curve with AI.
  • Executive presence: You can clearly articulate strategy, tradeoffs, and opportunities to the CMO and senior leadership team. You influence decisions through clarity and credibility, not volume.
  • Builder mentality: You’re energized by building something from the ground up. You bring structure where there’s ambiguity, create clarity where there’s noise, and move with urgency without sacrificing quality.
