Job Description

Responsibilities

  • The cadence. You run the cadence that keeps everything moving: weekly meetings, the launch calendar, vendor check-ins, budget tracking.
  • You help keep me and the team focused when we’re moving fast and I generate four new ideas before lunch.
  • The team. You oversee everyone running the marketing work, inside and outside. Paid media, social, design, PR, photographers and whoever else we bring on.
  • You make sure the strategy gets executed, the brand voice shows up consistently, and the team hits its goals.
  • You decide where the next dollar goes.
  • When we need a new outside partner, you find the right one, brief them well, and call it if their work isn’t holding up.
  • Lifecycle and retention. Klaviyo and SMS are yours, hands-on. That’s where you’ll be in the weeds, building flows, testing subject lines, figuring out what actually converts. Subscription and loyalty programs sit here too.
  • Influencer and affiliate. You’re building this from scratch. Find the right people, get product in their hands, brief them well, cut the ones who aren’t moving the needle.
  • The numbers. You report against the KPIs weekly and monthly. CAC, LTV, retention, conversion, channel performance.
  • The plan. You and I build the strategy together. The long view, not just the next quarter or the next launch. Where this brand is going, how we get there, and what we cut along the way.

Requirements

  • 5+ years leading growth, brand, or marketing, ideally with real time inside wellness, supplements, or CPG.
  • You’ve launched a DTC brand from zero, not just stepped into one already in market
  • Tools you already know and actually use: Klaviyo, Shopify, Meta, GA, Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini.
  • You can hold the brand voice yourself. Whether you’re writing the copy or editing someone else’s.
  • You give direction without micromanaging. The team is independent. They don’t need a manager; they need a leader.
  • You can brief a paid agency, push back on their reports, and say something when the numbers don’t add up.
  • You get perimenopause. You don’t have to be in it. You do have to understand why a woman would cry in a Target parking lot and then text her best friend a screenshot of our product.
  • You’re at a point in your career where part-time is the point, not the compromise.
  • You can hold your own in a room with a founder who has opinions and moves fast.

Preferred

  • Location: Phoenix metro strongly preferred. Weekly in-person with me.
