Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Communications planning: Develop and execute global communications plans that showcase WFSA and its members.
  • Member collaboration: Work in close consultation with WFSA member organizations on messaging, soliciting input frequently on key priorities.
  • Presidential communication: Draft key messages from the president to membership and externally.
  • Database management: Regularly update the WFSA’s repository tool that tracks changes in legislative policies across 20+ countries, bias, and other variables. Train new and existing members on the tool.
  • Media monitoring: Monitor media and develop a communications protocol for sharing key news and information.
  • Content Creation: Social media: Post positive news and research in timely fashion.
  • Content Creation: Newsletter: Solicit input and update the regular newsletter that provides a summary of relevant news, with context from the president on WFSA position.
  • Content Creation: Website: Update the website with relevant articles
  • Content Creation: Briefings: Create digests and fact sheets that track issues and WFSA perspective.
  • Content Creation: Materials: Create research-informed messaging about key issues.

Requirements

  • Six or more years of experience in a communications role, with at least two years in a related capacity.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and execute communication strategies across various platforms.
  • Experience in social media content planning and fulfillment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency in usage and transparency search engine optimization and AI
  • Experience working in social media platforms

Preferred

  • Fluency in more than one language
