Job Summary

Own and shape web stories and internal communications, support social content, conduct interviews, and cover events as part of the University of Kentucky Communications team.

Responsibilities

  • Write and edit content for web stories and internal communications.
  • Assist with social media content creation and post scheduling.
  • Conduct interviews and help develop feature stories.
  • Support coverage of events through notes, photos, and summaries.
  • Assist with other communications projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled at the University of Kentucky.
  • Experience in content writing and content creation for platforms including website, publications, or social media including Instagram and Facebook platforms. Experience shooting video and photos.
  • N/A for License/Registration/Certification
  • Sitting at a computer terminal for long periods of time. Ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds.
  • Weekdays between 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Evenings Weekends
  • Strong writing and editing skills Interest in storytelling and digital communications Familiarity with social media platforms.
  • Preferred Education/Experience Basic design skills through programs like Canva and Adobe design platforms. Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related majors preferred.
