Job Summary

The role focuses on researching and writing long-form content and data-driven pieces for B2B and B2C audiences, turning raw data into human-centered stories, and collaborating with strategy and PR teams. It requires strong journalism-style writing, data fluency, and SEO optimization. A portfolio demonstrating ranking content and meaningful engagement is essential.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Research and write long-form articles, original research reports, expert-led studies, and thought-leadership pieces that blend investigative journalism with data storytelling (think Forbes meets DataJournalism.com meets high-impact SEO content).
  • Turn raw data—public datasets, client insights, surveys, crawl results, behavioral metrics—into human-centered stories that secure media mentions, backlinks, and social amplification.
  • Create content for both B2B audiences (enterprise SEO teams, CMOs, agencies) and B2C brands looking to scale organic growth through earned media.
  • Write social-first threads (especially LinkedIn & X/Twitter), pitch decks, op-ed/bylines, and short-form assets that perform in algorithms and journalist inboxes.
  • Optimize every piece for search intent and E-E-A-T (you’ll be expected to show past work that ranks #1–3 on competitive keywords and earns editorial links).
  • Collaborate directly with PureLinq’s strategy, PR, and client teams to turn briefing notes into viral, link-worthy content that supports full-funnel digital PR campaigns.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional writing experience in journalism, content marketing, digital PR, or SEO-focused content.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating you can:
  • Rank in Google (share live links + ranking proof/screenshots).
  • Generate meaningful engagement (shares, likes, comments, backlinks, media pickups).
  • Write effectively for both B2B (decision-makers, technical audiences) and B2C (broader consumer brands).
  • Excellence in journalism-style writing + narrative storytelling (you can make survey findings, crawl data, or link-building case studies feel urgent and readable).
  • Data fluency—you’re comfortable sourcing, analyzing, and visualizing insights from spreadsheets, public APIs, tools like Ahrefs/SimilarWeb, or custom research.
  • Experience writing for social platforms (LinkedIn carousels, X threads, pitch-friendly formats).
  • Ability to work independently, meet tight pitch deadlines, and iterate based on performance feedback.

Preferred

  • Proven SEO content experience that has driven traffic growth or earned high-DA links.
  • Background in digital marketing, SEO, PR, tech, SaaS, or e-commerce verticals.
  • Experience crafting data-driven pitches that land coverage in major publications.
  • Familiarity with writing under brand voice guidelines while keeping content authentic and human.

Benefits

  • Direct access to real client data, proprietary insights, and campaign results to fuel your stories.
  • Your work will help brands earn authority links, dominate SERPs, and build long-term reputation—real impact, not fluff.
  • Competitive day rate + opportunity for recurring projects and retainer-style work.
  • Build a standout portfolio of data-backed, high-engagement pieces that open doors in digital PR and SEO circles.
