Job Summary

OpenAI is seeking a storyteller and media strategy leader to shape messaging, develop go-to-market narratives, and elevate OpenAI’s leadership in AI across industries. Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Proactively tell stories about beneficial use cases that map to OpenAI’s goals of building trust and credibility.
  • Explain the business of OpenAI, and showcase our market leadership.
  • Develop messaging and media strategy to demonstrate how OpenAI's platform helps founders / enterprises thrive.
  • Advise and empower customers to tell their own stories with our support.
  • Identify strategic media and speaking opps for go-to-market leadership in an effort to raise profiles of trusted leaders.
  • Manage partners for 1P and 3P launches.
  • This role will work closely with the go-to-market organization to explain the business of OpenAI, showcase our market leadership, and tell stories about how people and organizations are using AI to be more creative, productive and innovative.

Requirements

  • Have experience leading strategic media campaigns and developing vertical messaging for specific industries.
  • Partner confidently with senior executives to elevate visibility and communicate company strategy.
  • Own stories end-to-end from shaping the narrative to managing relationships with top-tier reporters.
  • Work seamlessly across internal partners (GTM, product, legal, and more), advising and aligning stakeholders along the way.
  • Know how to influence coverage by proactively equipping publications with the right information and credible experts.
  • Are excited to tell technology stories that can have significant real-world impact, with a strong interest in AI.
  • Are comfortable managing high-profile, highly visible stories in fast-moving environments.
  • Like translating highly technical topics into clear, compelling narratives for general audiences.
  • Excel at both strategy and hands-on execution, switching smoothly between big-picture thinking and day-to-day delivery.
