Job Summary

Own production floor stability for envelope converting by configuring equipment, enforcing quality checks, and training operators; keep up with inventory signals, safety, and timely reporting.

  • Operations ownership: Set up equipment configurations, conduct quality inspections, perform preventive maintenance.
  • Team enablement: Train Envelope Converting Machine Operators and enforce SOPs.
  • Process discipline: Maintain production reports, monitor inventory issues, and uphold safety standards.

Job Description

  • Sets up converting equipment in a variety of configurations to meet work order specifications.
  • Performs quality inspections to ensure accurate measurements of envelope, window, and flap dimensions.
  • Works with and trains Envelope Converting Machine Operators in skills necessary to perform efficiently.
  • Performs preventive maintenance.
  • Maintains adequate levels of glue, ink, window film, etc.
  • Notifies the Supervisor and Quality Control if there is a quality problem.
  • Understands or desire to learn Flexographic printing.
  • Fills out production reports including information such as name, date, job number, activity codes, etc., that are to be turned in at the end of the shift.
  • Informs Supervisor on inventory issues related to materials.
  • Works safely to prevent accidents by keeping the area clean and free of any trip hazards (such as straps or hoses), following proper lifting techniques, and keeping all aisles clear.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 1 year experience as an adjuster making envelopes: ex W+D 527,627, or 102
  • Strong understanding of the operation and maintenance of envelope-making machinery, ensuring precise adjustments for optimal performance and output quality.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of mechanical operations and processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret job instructions.
  • Ability to work with both computers and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to monitor production equipment for speed and quality.
  • Knowledge of predictive and productive maintenance systems.
  • Able to stand for long periods, bend, and perform repetitive motions.
