Job Description About the Role & Program Disney Consumer Products (DCP) brings the magic of Disney’s beloved stories, franchises and characters to families and fans around the world. As a Character Art Intern, you will be responsible for producing character artwork for both two-dimensional and/or three-dimensional product applications. If selected, you will work on projects at all levels of complexity with the team while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards. This exciting internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in the Glendale, CA area from June 15th 2026 to January 2nd 2027. What You Will Do: Development of character illustrations for style guides and portfolios across multiple properties and cross divisions. Idea generation for Franchise Expansion Art style/new technique development to co-ordinate with trends in the marketplace Contribute to new product ideas and participate in brainstorming sessions. Maintain high character art standards for the region. Develop a strong character art community across GPC Understand Disney Characters and Disney storytelling and how it translates to products. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: An understanding/working knowledge of graphic design, character art, or merchandise design An understanding of the principles of cartooning, cartoon animation and character art Previous exposure and skill in multiple mediums including: sculpting, painting, and drawing Strong traditional and digital drawing skills and concepting skills. Proficiency and confidence in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop Please be a fresh and inventive creative thinker with a proven ability to work strongly as part of a team An understanding and awareness of marketplace trends Able to present creative concepts in both formal and informal settings. Education Current Senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Art or Design Required Materials A portfolio review is required for this position. Applicants without a portfolio link on their résumé will not be considered a completed application packet and will not be considered for the position Eligibility Requirements & Program Information Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements: Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship. Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program. Be at least 18 years of age Possess unrestricted work authorization Additional Information The approximate dates of this in person internship are June 15th 2026 through January 2nd 2027 Must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship Must provide own housing during the internship program in the Glendale, CA area Must have reliable transportation to/from work The pay rate for this role in CA is $22.50 per hour.
