Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Own the global social media strategy aligned to brand, business, and go-to-market priorities
  • Act as a player/coach—setting direction while remaining hands-on in execution
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 3 (with room to grow) based in Cape Town
  • Establish clear workflows, roles, and standards across regions and time zones
  • Translate company narratives into compelling social-first storytelling
  • Oversee and contribute to daily content creation across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and emerging platforms
  • Manage content calendars, campaign launches, and real-time moments
  • Ensure brand consistency, tone, and visual quality across all channels

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in social media or digital marketing, ideally in B2B
  • Proven experience owning global social strategy—not just execution
  • Prior people management experience; comfortable leading distributed teams
  • Strong content instincts with a portfolio that demonstrates strategic thinking and creative execution
  • Data-driven mindset with experience using analytics to guide decisions
  • Deep understanding of major social platforms and how brands win on each
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-growth environments
  • Clear communicator who can influence across levels and functions

Preferred

  • Experience managing global or offshore teams
  • Experience supporting executive or founder-led social presence
  • Familiarity with social listening, publishing, and analytics tools
  • Background in partnerships, commerce, or B2B ecosystems
