Job Summary

Own end-to-end eCommerce strategy and operations across channels, owning the customer journey, tech, and data to drive revenue.

  • Strategy and ownership: define long-term growth, revenue targets, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Data-driven optimization: analytics, pricing, UX, and experimentation to lift conversions and AOV.
  • Platform, vendors and budget: manage eCommerce tech stack, partners, and investments to scale online sales with AI in eCommerce where relevant.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • The Director of eCommerce creates and implements the overall eCommerce strategy to drive online sales and growth, managing daily operations across various digital channels, and overseeing cross-functional teams.
  • Key responsibilities include analyzing sales data, optimizing website performance and user experience, developing digital and other marketing campaigns, managing vendors and logistics, and staying current with eCommerce trends to ensure a seamless customer journey to maximize revenue.
  • Strategy: Develop and execute long-term eCommerce strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets that align with EN’s mission and strategic goals.
  • Operations Management: Oversee daily eCommerce operations, including website management, online store maintenance, and product listings across various platforms. Direct eCommerce budget and ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Marketing and Merchandising: Create and implement promotional campaigns, merchandising strategies, and digital marketing initiatives to increase sales and customer engagement.
  • Data Analysis: Use data analytics to monitor performance, return on investment, understand customer behavior, optimize pricing, inventory, and marketing campaigns, and inform strategic decisions. Analyze web traffic and suggest solutions to boost web presence.
  • Customer Experience: Manage the entire online customer journey to enhance customer satisfaction, drive loyalty, and reduce cart abandonment.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including IT, Creative, Operations, and Merchandise, to ensure aligned and seamless eCommerce operations.
  • Vendor & Technology Management: Manage third-party vendors, eCommerce platforms, and other technologies to support online sales and fulfillment.
  • Market Research: Conduct market research to identify industry trends, new channels, and opportunities for business expansion and technological adoption.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in leading eCommerce programs
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, Information Technology, or related field; Master\'s degree a plus
  • Experience in leading large-scale digital projects; proven experience in developing and implementing eCommerce strategies
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills; ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with internal and external teams to achieve goals
  • Proven track record of increasing sales through online channels
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing strategies and tools; proficiency in web analytics tools like Google Analytics
  • Experience with eCommerce platforms such as Shopify, Magento, or BigCommerce
  • Knowledge of SEO, PPC, and other online marketing techniques; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant eCommerce and marketing software
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret data
  • Experience in budget management and financial planning
  • Experience using artificial intelligence in eCommerce to enhance the customer experience, streamline operations, and drive significant sales growth
  • Strong understanding of customer journey and UX/UI best practices
  • Experience selling on Amazon and print on demand merchandise is preferred
  • Flexibility, sense of humor, humility, and confidence
