Job Summary

Own a senior cross-functional strategy franchise for Target’s digital and marketing experience, balancing guest, brand, and topline results; lead a team and drive quarterly activation with data-driven insights and content alignment.

  • Strategic Ownership: set annual and quarterly frameworks across AOEs, align with KPIs, and ensure financial accountability.
  • Content & Insights: shape surface and storytelling, drive testing plans, and adapt to guest dynamics.
  • Leadership & Change: manage an 8-person team, partner with executives, and drive enterprise digital transformation.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning & Execution Oversite: Oversee annual & quarterly strategy, define an insights-led vision and mobilize the team to execute against KPI-driven goals across Marketing, Digital, and Brand.
  • Quarterly Strategy: Partner with Senior Leaders to cascade quarterly priorities, dependencies and activation plans across Site Merchandising functions and drive strategy implementation.
  • Content Strategy: Align surface, content and storytelling across Marketing and Digital, share testing plans, and iterate as guest dynamics evolve.
  • Analytics & Insights: Monitor data from multiple sources to guide short and long-term strategies; stay ahead of guest sentiment and digital retail trends.
  • Innovation: Identify whitespace opportunities leveraging assortment, experience, brand, and technology to improve guest experience and business impact.
  • Results & Financial Accountability: Own topline sales, profitability, and guest engagement through strategic initiatives.
  • Partnerships and Influence: Collaborate across Digital, Marketing, and Enterprise partners with a POV balancing guest, business, and brand needs; influence high-visibility projects.
  • Communication: Onboard leaders to strategies across Digital, Merchandising, and Marketing using strong written and verbal skills.
  • Enterprise Change Agent: Lead modernization and transformation of Digital at Target, driving change with empathy and clear perspective.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of 8, develop performance, expand knowledge, and foster a positive, collaborative culture across global teams.

Requirements

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience within ecommerce, Marketing, Digital Media, Marketing, Strategy or equivalent
  • Proven leadership experience, ability to lead and develop high performing team members
  • Excellent communication skills, with proven track record of building strong working relationships with executive leaders across functions and businesses
  • Excellent strategic, analytical, critical thinking & problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple, disparate projects across disciplines at the same time, simultaneously managing working team & partners while driving outcomes
  • Strong Digital acumen
  • Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs; some onsite at Target HQ MN and some virtual, with country restrictions as applicable
