Guard and operationalize a cohesive brand strategy across the institution, turning brand governance into consistent, policy-aligned execution and education.

  • Brand governance: steward standards, assets, and licenses to ensure consistent identity across campaigns and partnerships.
  • Strategic counsel: shape positioning, naming, and visual/verbal execution for institution-wide communications.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Provides brand leadership, focusing on alignment with Our Strategy and specific areas outlined in the institutional marketing and brand plan. This requires careful stewardship of UT MD Anderson's brand assets and associated intellectual property.
  • Manages the architecture and adaptive expression of UT MD Anderson's primary brand and related brand assets.
  • Leads program and projects for institutional branding initiatives, creating and managing governance framework for brand standards, trademarks and other legal marks.
  • Manages brand standards and associated policies and processes.
  • Serves as a central point of contact for brand inquiries, guidance and issue resolution across the organization.
  • Acts as an advocate, guardian and educator for brand values and standards at all levels of the institution.
  • Leads the development and execution of the institutional brand platform, ensuring the organization is galvanized around the brand vision, positioning, and strategy.
  • Provides strategic counsel to leaders and teams on brand positioning, naming and visual/verbal execution.
  • Develops and delivers brand training and resources to ensure broad adoption and understanding.
  • Leads the institutional review and approval process for external advertising, marketing and partnership materials, evaluating submissions for brand consistency, accuracy, tone, and compliance with institutional policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or related field
  • Ten years of experience in marketing and business planning to include five years of management experience
  • Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate and/or LEADing Self Discover programs may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience. Completion of both programs can be substituted for a maximum of two years of supervisory or management experience
  • Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources

Preferred

  • Prior agency experience
  • Candidates with plans to relocate to the State of Texas
