Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Manage digital marketing campaigns from concept through execution, including content development, audience targeting, deployment, and optimization.
  • Develop, review, and edit relevant content including social media posts, newsletters, press releases, media statements, talking points, website updates, emails, reports, and other organizational communications that reflect SCN's mission and engage donor and community audiences.
  • Manage a digital content calendar with potential future engagements, collaborating with departments across the organization, and ensuring timely coordination and execution of marketing and communications initiatives.
  • Develop and implement social media strategies, including creating, publishing, and curating content, engaging with audiences, and tracking performance metrics.
  • Design visually engaging graphics, social media assets, email campaigns, event materials, and other digital collateral using tools such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Build and deploy email campaigns through Mailchimp, including newsletters, donor communications, event promotions, and impact updates.
  • Track and analyze email performance metrics, open rates, click-throughs, and list growth, and use insights to improve future campaigns.
  • Maintain organized records, contact and distribution lists, and creative assets.
  • Leverage monitoring tools to identify trends and analyze the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for external vendors including graphic designers, photographers, videographers, and other creative partners, managing project timelines and deliverables for outsourced creative work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, writing, journalism, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in digital marketing or related roles, preferably for nonprofit or government organizations.
  • Experience with marketing and design tools such as Canva Pro, Mailchimp, and Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign).
  • Experience designing and implementing successful messaging and marketing campaigns using paid, earned, owned, and social media.
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and experience optimizing digital content for search.
  • Demonstrated current knowledge of widely used social media platforms including LinkedIn, X, and Instagram, and experience creating, publishing, and evaluating social media content.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience analyzing marketing performance metrics and using data to optimize campaigns and audience engagement.
  • Experience with WordPress or a similar website content management system preferred.
  • Video editing experience using tools such as Adobe Premier Pro, Final Cut Pro, Veed, or similar platforms preferred.
