Job Description

Own Salt + Light’s digital storytelling with social media, video, and photography, turning neighbor stories into shareable content that grows community impact and awareness.

  • Responsibilities: Execute Salt + Light's social media strategy across multiple platforms.
  • Create engaging social content including posts, stories, reels, and short-form videos.
  • Write captions and digital content that reflect Salt + Light's voice and messaging.
  • Schedule, publish, and manage content calendars across channels.
  • Monitor trends, platform changes, and emerging content opportunities.
  • Track performance and engagement metrics and propose improvements.
  • Capture authentic photos and videos of neighbors, volunteers, staff, and events.
  • Identify meaningful moments and stories that reflect the mission.
  • Edit photos and videos using approved software and tools.
  • Maintain and organize digital asset libraries reflecting dignity-centered storytelling.

Requirements: Experience with Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, strong writing, passion for digital content, basic photography/videography/editing, ability to manage multiple projects, strong organizational skills, collaborative mindset, and commitment to Salt + Light’s guiding principles.

  • Experience using social media platforms and strong written storytelling skills.
  • Basic experience or demonstrated interest in photography, videography, and content editing.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, mission-driven environment and engaging with diverse groups.
  • Commitment to dignity, belonging, compassion, and radical hospitality.

Nice to have: Experience creating content for nonprofits, familiarity with Canva/CapCut/Adobe Creative Suite, photography/videography production, knowledge of social media analytics, scheduling platforms, and storytelling that centers dignity and community impact.

  • Nonprofit content experience and mission-driven brands.
