Job Summary

Own and drive SJC’s environmental health communications by shaping strategy, coordinating cross‑channel content, and leading stakeholder engagement to boost awareness and impact.

  • Track campaign effectiveness and align with other SJC teams to advance organizational goals.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop Communication Strategies: Create and implement comprehensive communications strategies for SJC’s programs on environmental health issues.
  • Content Coordination: Coordinate with the social media, graphic design, and email marketing teams to produce cohesive and compelling content across various platforms.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Ensure consistent and effective communication with key stakeholders, including residents, government officials, and community partners.
  • Message Development: Develop clear and persuasive messaging to promote SJC’s initiatives and events.
  • Campaign Management: Oversee the planning and execution of communication campaigns to raise awareness and engagement.
  • Monitor and Evaluate: Track and evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and campaigns, making data-driven adjustments as needed.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other SJC teams and volunteers to align communication efforts with broader organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Passion for Sustainability: Strong interest in environmental health issues and commitment to SJC’s mission.
  • Experience: Proven experience in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute effective communication strategies.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team coordination skills, with excellent organizational and communication abilities.
  • Creativity: Innovative thinker with the ability to create engaging and impactful content.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with communication tools and platforms, including social media, email marketing (Mailchimp or similar), and content management systems.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a remote work environment.
