Job Description

Responsibilities

  • The Communications Intern will support Olsson’s external and internal communications efforts through hands-on content creation, storytelling, and research.
  • This role offers meaningful, portfolio-ready experience across social media, written content, media relations, and internal communications.
  • The intern will collaborate closely with the communications team to help tell people-focused stories, support recruiting and brand awareness efforts, and strengthen Olsson’s voice across channels.
  • This internship is designed to balance foundational skill-building with stretch opportunities that challenge and grow the intern’s writing, interviewing, editing, and organizational capabilities.
  • We are looking for a student intern to start in May or June and work 40 hours per week during the summer with the potential to continue working part-time into the school year.
  • We have one current opening and will consider candidates interested in being located out of our Lincoln, NE or Omaha, NE office locations.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a similar field of study.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team .
  • Comfort conducting interviews and working with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and basic content creation tools (Canva experience is a plus).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.

Preferred

  • Campus leadership or experience managing projects or organizations is a plus
  • Canva experience is a plus
