Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Help develop and carry out MACHC’s communications strategy, and serve as our primary point of contact for messaging and branding.
  • Create high-quality content — newsletters, press releases, advocacy alerts, reports, website and social content, and member communications.
  • Own our website and social media: content calendars, audience engagement, and metrics that grow our reach.
  • Build relationships with media and partners; draft talking points and public statements for leadership.
  • Support advocacy campaigns, member engagement, events, and conferences alongside our policy and program teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, public health, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of relevant communications experience.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience managing digital communications platforms and social media.
  • Strong project management and the ability to juggle priorities on a fast-paced small team.
  • Commitment to the mission of community health centers.

Preferred

  • Experience working in or with a trade, membership, or professional association.
  • Experience in healthcare, public health, nonprofit associations, or advocacy organizations.
  • Familiarity with community health centers, primary care, Medicaid, workforce, or health policy.
  • Media relations and strategic messaging experience.
  • Proficiency with tools like Canva, WordPress, Mailchimp/Constant Contact, Adobe Creative Suite, or CRM/email marketing systems.
