Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Drive the development and execution of strategic public relations and media-focused communications programs to advance institutional and external objectives.
  • Design, implement and monitor media strategies and PR initiatives to raise JHM’s profile and inform employees and faculty.
  • Identify and pilot innovative media approaches across earned, owned, and social channels, improving reach, clarity, and crisis readiness.
  • Serve as a liaison to business units and leaders to align media objectives with institutional priorities and build journalist relationships.
  • Support the director in creating and operationalizing communications guidelines, policies, and response procedures.
  • On-call rotation for emergent institutional messaging needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years in journalism, media/public relations, or communications; writing and project management experience.
  • Proven ability to supervise and implement effective communications plans and edit high-quality pieces for external audiences.
