Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the Communication and Marketing Coordinator’s postings and output of all USA Boxing’s social media platforms and website; ensuring Maintenance of USA Boxing’s social media accounts with postings, responses, auditing, frequent review of comments.
  • Serves as a day-to-day contact with USA Boxing’s partners and manages sponsor fulfilments with cross-promotional events
  • Creates content for USA Boxing’s website and digital platforms; Manages website redesigns as dictated by the USOPC
  • Develops and executes proactive public relations strategies and initiatives that maximize positive market perception and visibility, especially through use of social media and the USA Boxing website. Directs and manages all aspects of the team’s media and public relations, including day to day membership/team interaction and news releases/announcements
  • Creates and executes short- and long-term communications plans that feature unique written, graphical and video content (features and releases) for use across all USA Boxing platforms
  • Cultivates relationships with local and national media (print and electronic) through regular outreach and coordinates interview requests for athletes, coaches and management, as necessary
  • Provide public relations advice and counsel on both routine and sensitive media and business issues
  • Serves as the primary communications point of contact during all USA Boxing events, including but not limited to local and national tournaments, qualifying events and international events, as well as for World Boxing, USOPC and other parties. Creates, organizes, and posts results from key national and international events
  • Serves as the primary national office liaison for PR/Communications and Marketing Committees to execute initiatives.
  • Provides reports on live stream, marketing, website numbers, etc. to Board of Directors, Sponsors and the USOPC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; preferably in Communications, Marketing, Sports Administration, or related field
  • Three to five years previous work experience in communications, social media, and/or marketing
  • Prefer leadership experience in the field
  • High degree of competency with technology to include: PCs and/or Macs, use of photography equipment, video technology
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Products; Adobe Creative Suite; Video editing software such as Final Cut Pro
  • High degree of competency in the use of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and ability to recognize additional social media trends and platforms.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong presentation skills and creative writing abilities
  • Strong grammar and spelling skills
