Job Description

Responsibilities

  • The Communications Coordinator works as part of the development team, with supervision from the Development & Communications Manager, to lead CHOICES' digital presence, media relations, and marketing efforts.
  • This position maintains and redesigns CHOICES' website, manages social media and email marketing, coordinates media relations, and executes marketing plans and vendor relationships across clinics and service lines.
  • This role also supports community engagement and leads the Memphis volunteer program.
  • This position may be hybrid, with in-person work required.

  • Ensure an active, on-brand, consistent social media presence across CHOICES' digital platforms, in coordination with the Social Media Specialist
  • Support monthly email marketing campaigns in coordination with the Development & Communications Manager, including graphic design
  • Make website updates aligned with organizational strategy; lead comprehensive redesign of the CHOICES website
  • Track and analyze social media, email marketing, and website analytics to inform strategy

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2 years of overall professional experience required, with 1-2 years in communications and/or marketing preferred
  • Supportive of comprehensive reproductive and sexual healthcare, including abortion care, midwifery, and gender-affirming care.
  • Proficient in WordPress, Google Suite, Microsoft Office, data entry, and spreadsheet management
  • Knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube)
  • Basic graphic design skills and/or experience with tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite
  • Familiarity with communications and public relations best practices and current trends
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Effective at working with others to achieve common goals
  • Skilled at cultivating strong relationships internally and externally

Preferred

  • Experience handling media inquiries and supporting spokesperson or interview preparation
  • Familiarity with grant compliance requirements as they relate to marketing and patient communications
  • Experience leading or contributing to website redesign projects, including familiarity with UX/content planning
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and monitoring contracted services or campaigns
  • Prior experience supervising or coordinating volunteers
  • Basic video editing experience
  • Experience in reproductive health, healthcare, or social justice sectors
  • Understanding of the post-Dobbs reproductive healthcare landscape
