Job Summary

Own a cross-channel content and comms spine for a STEM nonprofit, owning narrative, assets, and impact reporting across social, email, and external materials.

  • Content & storytelling: own social, email, blogs, site content, and visual storytelling.
  • Media & events support: assist media outreach, coverage tracking, and drive conferences and community programs.
  • Analytics & governance: maintain assets, deliver reporting, and align on plan and industry best practices.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Content & storytelling: Create and manage engaging digital content across social media, email marketing, blogs, and website platforms, including copywriting, graphic design, short-form video production, content scheduling, and performance reporting.
  • Communications materials: Develop, edit, and proofread newsletters, annual reports, presentations, speeches, marketing collateral, and other external-facing content while ensuring brand consistency.
  • Media relations support: Assist with media campaigns, monitoring, tracking coverage, maintaining media lists, and promoting organizational initiatives.
  • Events & community: Plan and execute conferences, special events, and community engagement activities, representing the organization and supporting marketing objectives.
  • Assets, analytics & planning: Maintain communications assets, provide reporting, support departmental planning and goal setting, and stay current on industry trends in STEM education and nonprofit communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, 1–3 years in communications, marketing, PR, digital media, or related field; strong portfolio for recent grads.
  • Proven experience managing social platforms and content calendars; familiarity with Sprout Social or similar tools.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication; ability to create, edit, and proofread for varied audiences and channels.
  • Strong visual storytelling and branding; proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Adobe Creative Suite, design, or video editing is a plus.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, able to manage multiple projects; experience with WordPress, Google Analytics, HTML, Constant Contact, MailChimp, or similar platforms is a plus.

Preferred

  • WordPress, Google Analytics, HTML, Constant Contact, MailChimp, or similar digital marketing platforms experience.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, graphic design, video editing, or other creative tools.
