Job Summary

Assist multi-channel communications with a focus on content creation, basic design, and event support for MPUA member and public messaging.

  • Content Production: write/edit for newsletters, social, and websites to simplify complex topics.
  • Design & Media: lightweight graphic work in Adobe Creative Suite and asset organization.
  • Event & Asset Support: materials prep, on-site help, and post-event follow-up.

Job Description

Responsibilities\n

  • Assist in writing and editing content for newsletters, social media, website updates, and other communications materials
  • \n
  • Support the development and design of MPUA’s electronic newsletters and quarterly magazine
  • \n
  • Help maintain and update MPUA’s social media channels to ensure timely, engaging content
  • \n
  • Assist with basic graphic design projects using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar tools)
  • \n
  • Provide event support, including preparation of materials, on-site assistance, and post-event follow-up
  • \n
  • Capture and organize photos and video content for communications use
  • \n
  • Assist with website updates and content management
  • \n
  • Provide general support for communications projects and campaigns as needed
  • \n
  • Other duties as assigned

\nRequirements\n

  • Education requirement: High School / GED
  • \n
  • < 1 year experience
  • \n
\nNice to Have\n
    \n
  • Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
  • \n
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics
  • \n
  • Working knowledge and experience with social media platforms and best practices
  • \n
  • Functional knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar graphic design tools
  • \n
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • \n
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a professional environment
  • \n
  • Interest in public utilities, local government, or community-focused organizations is a plus
