Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Draft communications materials for use across multiple channels, including weekly newsletters, social media, talking points, and other communications content in alignment with the Council’s agenda.
  • Develop attention-grabbing social media content that chronicles the Council’s day-to-day activities and keeps the people of Saint Paul in the know.
  • Maintain an editorial calendar aligned with the Council’s staff and the City's public information officers.
  • Support the Director by staffing media conferences, interviews, and events, including city functions.
  • Assist in coordinating between the city and district councils to distribute information and foster relationships between state, local, and community partners in alignment with the Council’s agenda.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and two years of experience in journalism, communications, marketing, public relations or a closely related field.
  • Master’s Degree and one year of experience in journalism, communications, marketing, public relations or a closely related field.
  • A combination of six years of college level education and progressively responsible experience in journalism, communications, marketing, public relations or a closely related field.
