The Category Manager is the CEO of their product line — directly responsible for the profitability, growth, and lifecycle performance of every product within their category. This role combines analytical precision with entrepreneurial instinct, overseeing the entire chain of production, pricing, marketing coordination, and profit optimization. A Category Manager at Zulay Kitchen isn’t just managing listings — they are driving the business engine for their category, ensuring every product contributes to profit, growth, and brand excellence across all sales channels. *Job Purpose: *To select, manage, and grow winning products that deliver consistent profit and expansion within their category while maintaining alignment with Zulay Kitchen’s mission, standards, and brand identity. *Duties will include:* *1. Product Selection & Lifecycle Management* * Research, select, and propose new products within assigned category based on profitability, demand trends, and brand alignment. * Oversee the entire lifecycle of each product — from sourcing and design through launch, optimization, and retirement. * Ensure every product meets margin and velocity targets, taking corrective action when needed. * Coordinate with Sourcing, Design, and Supply Chain to ensure timely production, packaging, and delivery. *2. Profit Optimization* * Monitor and analyze P&L performance, identifying margin erosion, overstock risks, and improvement opportunities. * Collaborate with the VP of Finance to validate COGS and ensure all operational expenses are correctly classified. * Direct pricing strategy across Amazon, Website, Wholesale, and other marketplaces. * Approve or adjust ad budgets, effective keyword targeting and bidding to maximize profitability and maintain target ACOS. *3. Coordination Across Divisions* * Work closely with Division 2 (Sourcing, Packaging, Design) to ensure packaging and branding are retail and channel compliant. * Align with Division 4 (Supply Chain, Digital Sales, Wholesale) to synchronize inventory, logistics, and promotions. * Coordinate with Marketing to ensure listings, photos, videos, and A+ content reflect brand standards and category differentiation. * Work closely with Division 5 to correct quality issues that arise in our products to continue to serve our customers well. *4. Data-Driven Decision-Making* * Track category statistics weekly — revenue, net profit, profit margins, ad spend, ad sales, ACOS, inventory efficiency and unit velocity. * Run competitive analysis to identify threats, new opportunities, and underperforming SKUs. * Propose actions to the Senior Category Manager that drive growth, improve margin, and reduce waste. Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year Work Location: In person
