Job Summary

Own the audience engine for Music Organizations, directing audience development, communications, and ticketing across touring ensembles and St Olaf Records with an eye on attendance, revenue, and visibility.

  • Audience Growth and Communications: Build nationwide promotional programs, earned media and digital campaigns, and grassroots outreach to drive attendance and engage key audiences.
  • Touring, Events, and Ticketing: Plan pre-tour promotion, on-site ticket management, and event marketing aligned with city needs and volunteer support.
  • Content and Media Operations: Oversee website, social/digital strategy, printed materials, and Musicwear/merch and concert programs with cross-team alignment.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Audience Development and Communications: Build and engage audiences for ensemble performances nationwide to increase attendance and ticketing revenue through earned and paid media, digital communications, grassroots outreach, and audience-focused campaigns.
  • Data-informed audience strategy: Create a measurement environment to track promotional effectiveness, engagement, patron feedback, and attendance trends to inform future growth efforts.
  • Tour promotion and partnerships: Plan pre-tour visits, meet with local stakeholders, and develop city-specific strategies for each touring ensemble.
  • Tour staffing and on-site operations: Staff ensemble tours as needed, including on-site ticket management.
  • Cross-team project management: Ensure timely coordination between Music Organizations and Marketing & Communications for advertising, programs, materials, and events including the St. Olaf Christmas Festival.
  • Advertising and printed materials: Lead production and deadlines for posters, fliers, concert programs, radio, grassroots efforts, and venue communications.
  • Social and digital strategy: Lead strategies for social and digital media and manage the ensembles' website.
  • Merchandising and programs: Oversee Musicwear retail with Ticketing and Communications, and manage printed concert programs with the coordinator.
  • Budget and operations: Manage budgets and provide operational support for the Music Organizations office.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Ticketing

  • Develop and oversee all aspects of tour and event ticket sales strategy, projections, and execution; manage on-site sales and train volunteers.
  • Supervise pre-event ticket sales and on-site management for major events like the St. Olaf Christmas Festival.

St. Olaf Records

  • Direct and administer St. Olaf Records as a core component of Music Organizations with long-range planning and daily management.
  • Establish and execute a sustainable roadmap and development objectives supporting institutional priorities.
